The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery treats people who have disorders of the heart, aorta and blood vessels. The department works closely with the department of emergency medicine treating acute patients that are sent to our hospital. The department’s team is comprised of skilled cardiovascular surgeons, perfusionists and registered nurses with training from top medical centers in Taiwan. The Open Heart Surgery Team was formed from specialists that received training from various major medical centers in Taiwan.
The integration of the Department of Cardiology and Department of Cardiovascular Surgery offers comprehensive medical treatments for the cardiovascular system. Patients who come to Shuang Ho Hospital are able to receive detailed cardiology examination and treatment in the Department of Cardiology by being hospitalized for only a few days. If surgery is required, the patients are able to undergo open heart surgery as quickly as possible. Treatment by open heart surgery at SHH includes coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, valvular repair or replacement surgery, congenital heart defect corrective surgeries, aortic dissection repair and aortic aneurysm resection
